Loving God, Loving Others, Making Disciples

It Matters

I used to think that it didn’t matter if I went to certain events or not. I would say to myself, “Oh, there will be so many people there it’s not important that I show up.” But I’ve realized that’s not true! I realize now that if someone sends me an invitation to a party or there is a funeral, I should go if I can. I should feel honored that I was invited and take advantage of every opportunity to be involved in people’s lives. It’s not that I’m an extrovert – because I definitely am not. It’s just I know when I throw a party or host an event, I am blessed when those I have invited come. The same is true for being present at the weekly worship service and the small groups that we are a part of.  God Himself is delighted when we “come into His Presence” and worship Him. We have committed ourselves to these groups of people and it matters if we show up.  If just one person is missing from our fellowship, we are not complete. I know there are times when things unexpectedly happen and it’s impossible to be there, but for those other times, let’s renew our commitments to the people of Three Point and “be there” when at all possible.  We all win when everyone shows up! Don’t ever let anyone, yourself included, tell you that you won’t be missed – because you definitely will be!
