Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary. Isaiah 40:31
Believe it or not, I used to play football. I know some of you are laughing but I was a tall, lanky wide receiver. When you are on the field, you know how the play is supposed to work. Because of the linear view, you can’t always see the field and how things are developing. Interceptions, busted routes, missed assignments happen because of the limited view. In high school, our offensive coordinator sat up in the press box. This gave him a different perspective. He was able to see the whole field and could call plays that would take advantage of the defense’s weaknesses.
In our prayer life, this idea of perspective is important, too. Often, we are too close to our problem or trial or situation and we can’t see the whole picture. In our prayer time, we can wait on God and allow Him to give us Godly vision. We don’t know the whole picture but God does. Isaiah 40:31 says that, “those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.” An eagle has a vision of the whole picture. As it soars, it is aware of even the slightest movement. This scripture reminds us that those that wait on the Lord can have that eagle’s view of your earthly problems. Let me know how God is answering your prayers and giving you His vision.
