Loving God, Loving Others, Making Disciples

Too Busy

The Christmas season for me always seems so demanding! There are gifts to buy and parties to attend. If you’re even a little like me, every year, the budget and calendar gets squeezed to the max! Yet, I believe that in addition to all these demands, the Christmas season is loaded with lots of opportunities. There is opportunity to have real meaningful spiritual conversations, to reconnect with people, and to grow in our own relationship with God. Let’s pay attention to what God is saying to us this season of advent and make the most of the opportunities this Christmas.

This week, the focus of advent is on Love. God’s children had been disobedient. They had gone against what He wanted for them, and so they were lost and lonely. But God is not only faithful, He also loves. God in His love sent His Son to rescue them and us. Jesus came to save that which had been lost! That is great news! How can we live this week to celebrate and honor what God has done for us in Jesus?

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him
