Wednesday, January 9th, began our first session of Unshakable. Like 40 Days in the Word, it’s a study written and developed by Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback church in Anaheim, CA.
At our first session, we had approximately 25 members who participated. It is based on the character of Daniel, one of the most well-known prophets in the Old Testament. Who has been a Christian for any length of time and isn’t familiar with the story of Daniel in the Lion’s den?
As usual in the small group study, we watched a video of Rick Warren. He reminded us that “God tests us with stress before He trusts us with success.” He also shared the 4 qualities that God looks for in our lives and how to make a case to an authority. We then broke up into several small groups and discussed questions from the workbook and shared experiences relating to the study topic.
There is still plenty of room for others to join us so please plan to come for our study next Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. and if time allows, come early (6:00 p.m.) and join us for dinner and fellowship. We will also be showing the video each Sunday Morning in the Sanctuary for those who are unable to attend on Wednesday nights.
