Loving God, Loving Others, Making Disciples

Laying the Ground Work

Last night was our 2nd night of prayer. And even though it was raining, several people came out to pray.

We began the service with songs of praise and worship as we had the night before. Then Pastor Paul gave us a list of questions and he went over scripture that we needed to think and pray about. I remember that several had to do with our love for God and whether he was our “first” love and did we put other worldly things in place of Him? As I sat and reflected in the quiet, a few things came to my mind over which I had to repent, and I think that was probably the case with many of us. I had to seriously reevaluate my relationship with Christ and ask Him to keep me accountable in areas where I may have been unintentionally putting certain people and things in place of Him.

God brought Romans 12: 1, 2 to mind also. Was I really willing to be a “living sacrifice” for Him? Could I be more frugal with my money, spending less on myself so that we could have comfortable classrooms built so our children could spend the Sunday School hour in comfortable temperatures. The resounding answer was: YES I COULD! And I will.

This reflection time was followed by several members praying aloud about many things, praying for each of our members here at Three Point, but mostly about revival.

There was such a sweet spirit here last night, and an atmosphere of calm and peace. God’s presence was among us.

If you missed either or both nights, won’t you consider coming tonight? I can promise you will not regret it.
