Rev. Tom Atkins has been preaching on surrendering everything to God and how to filled with the Holy Spirit. Some people get nervous when you start talking about the Holy Spirit (Ghost). The only problem with that is He is as much a part of the Trinity as God, the Father, and God, the Son. Jesus, Himself said in John 16:7: Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter (Holy Spirit) will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you.
Want scripture which shows we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit? Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. And: Acts 13:9 Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him. And: Acts 13:52: And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost. Also Ephesians 5:19 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.
Many of us came to the altar to pray yesterday that we would be filled with the Spirit or have a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit. It was a very moving and sacred time as Rev. Atkins and Pastor Paul prayed for us.
DON’T MISS TONIGHT! Especially if you are sick or have family members or friends who are sick. We will be having a healing service. One of the most prevalent things Jesus did here on earth was heal the sick, those who were sick physically, emotionally or spiritually. When He ascended to the Father, He told His disciples that they/we would do greater works. God is never changing. His commands back in the age in which He lived are true for us today too.
