Loving God, Loving Others, Making Disciples

Invest and Invite

I read a recent survey that was done among people who do not attend church.  In looking at the results, I believe that our calling to bring others into the house of God is more important than ever.  When the participants were asked what would convince them to attend a church service, the majority said that being invited by someone they know was the only way they would consider attending.

That means that, for some, you may be the only way someone will ever decide to enter the house of the Lord.   It’s important that we take seriously the scriptures that encourage us to help others find their way to God.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord  – Colossians 3:16

And he said unto them, Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. – Mark 16:15

As pastor, I want to encourage you to invest and invite in people. I pray that God will give you wisdom to say the right words, and that He will lead you to people who are hungry for Him.
