Loving God, Loving Others, Making Disciples

Confessing and Repenting

10 He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;

Psalm 103:10-11

Confession and repentance can be humbling and painful but in order to receive God’s forgiveness, it is necessary.

We live in a time where it is convenient to blame others for our sins. In Genesis, both Adam and Eve blamed others for their sin. However, when David cried out to God after his failing with Uriah and Bathsheba, he owned his sin and never mentioned Bathsheba. He owned his behavior and sought to change. It comes down to a new and changed heart.
