The world says that our significance or self-worth is based on our appearance, our social status, our popularity, our possessions, our performance or a host of other worldly things. God, however, says that our self-worth is based on who He says we are.
One of the strategies that satan uses to steal, kill, and destroy our lives is by lying to us. He is the father of lies. He would have us believe that we will never measure up, that following Jesus is just too difficult. That nothing we do matters anyway.
Jesus says, however, that we are the salt and light of the world. He says that we will receive power from the Holy Spirit to be witnesses to the world.
In the Gospel of John, Jesus said,“No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends,” John 15:15.
Paul said in his letter to the Corinthians, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come…Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”
2 Corinthians 5:17; 20
Are there lies you have been believing that need to be replaced with the truth of God’s Word? As you spend more time in His Word and in His presence, you will find what a friend we have in Jesus.
