Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith. Hebrews 13:7
I believe that we have all heard of the Energizer Bunny – that pink bunny drumming on and on. The message is that because of those batteries, he doesn’t stop. For us Christ followers, our ministry keeps on going – whether good or bad.
Many people have left the church today because they look at the lives of “church people” and often don’t see anything different than what they see in the world. This can be scary for many of us. Is the message that we are showing the world one of inconsistency and powerlessness? Do we talk one way and act another?
As I grow older, I wonder about the example and legacy I am leaving. What do my children see? What do my grandchildren see? How can I set a Godly example for them that will help them navigate this crazy world? May the Spirit of God empower us to be more Christ-like in our everyday lives.
