Loving God, Loving Others, Making Disciples

God’s Most Treasured Possession

Among the possessions we have, there are those we treasure more than others. It may be something that has little monetary value but it holds great sentimental value – that vase that came from your grandmother, that now sits on your mantel. It’s a treasured possession.

You may have a special bond with a loved one. When they call, you happily speak with them.

What does God place extreme value on? Who does He call His treasured possession? Would it surprise you to know that His treasured possession is you?

And the LORD has declared this day that you are his peoplehis treasured possession as he promised, and that you are to keep all his commands. Deuteronomy 26:18

This message was written to the Hebrews but it is applicable to all of us today who have become Christ’s followers. We, who are created in the very image of God, are His most treasured possessions. Is God your most treasured possession?

One way that we show our love for Him is how we show our love toward others. Through the giving of your tithes and offerings, we are able to pour into the lives and ministries of people both near and far. When you and I tithe, it’s our acknowledgment that God is number one in our lives and that we give because we love.

We serve a great God and we are trusting Him for all of our needs. I would love to hear how God has been blessing you on your journey.
