Jesus, the Son of God, left Heaven and came to earth to become one of us. He was 100% human and 100% God. He taught us how to live, what the Kingdom of God was like, performed miracles and made disciples.
After His death and resurrection and before His ascension back to heaven, he gave his disciples the Great Commission:
18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
Jesus’ final instructions to His disciples were to “make disciples.” Of course, this commission is for us today as followers of Jesus. So, if we are to make disciples, what does a disciple of Jesus look like? How do we know if we are making disciples? What are the characteristics of being a disciple of Jesus?
I hope that you will join me on a spiritual journey to discover the importance of participation and accountability as we become more like Jesus. It involves spending intimate time daily with God in prayer and in the Word. I want to encourage you to be faithful, available, and teachable and to expect God to move mightily in your life and in the lives of those you disciple.
