Loving God, Loving Others, Making Disciples

Slow Down, You Move Too Fast…

“Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” — Luke 5:16

There is something sacred about stillness. In a world that pushes us to hurry, measure, perform, and keep moving, quiet places become more than escapes—they become invitations. Recently, I have had the opportunity to walk through woods and along a lakeside with Mirek, and I’ve  sensed something deeper: the gentle pull of God’s presence in the silence. The breeze through the trees, the shimmer on the water, the unhurried rhythm of creation—they all whisper the same message: Slow down… I am here.

Throughout Scripture, God often speaks in the quiet. Elijah didn’t hear Him in the wind or the fire, but in the “gentle whisper.” Jesus Himself withdrew to solitary places to be alone with the Father. These moments weren’t accidental. They were intentional spaces where the noise of life faded and the heart could listen again.

What if God is doing the same for you? What if these walks were not random but purposeful invitations—gentle reminders to lift my eyes off the hurry and rest my soul in Him? It’s in the quiet, we rediscover His goodness. We remember that life is not sustained by our pace, but by His presence.

Where is God inviting you to slow down today?
