36 But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.” Mark 5:36
Jesus is going with Jairus to heal his daughter when a woman who is bleeding touches him. This causes Jesus to pause and spend time with her. While he was with her, Jairus’ daughter dies. The crowd thinks all is over. Jesus, however, tells them, “Do not fear, only believe. “
His message is true for us today. Jesus’ words don’t remove the crisis—they redefine how we stand in it. Faith is not the absence of fear; it is allegiance to Jesus over fear.
