Daniel Chapter 5 is a contrast between two different types of people. Belshazzar, the king, and Daniel.
Belshazzar is prideful, arrogant and did not learn from his grandfather, Nebuchadnezzar. He made 3 fatal mistakes. He chose to ignore God, he chose to ignore the lessons from his grandfather, and he chose to be prideful and throw parties.
Daniel, on the other hand, is humble, honest and is a man of integrity. Though a POW, he rises to be the second in command of the kingdom.
How can we be more like Daniel? In our culture today that celebrates the inane, how can we be people of integrity, of honesty, of humility? Let’s learn from Daniel and from those that have gone before us.
