“The greatest among you will be your servant, for whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” Matthew 23:11-12
When you think about the thing you are most passionate about, everybody has it in them to be the best. It could be your work, or your family, being a father or a mother, there’s something in your life. You want to be better. Jesus flips it around. He says, “You descend to greatness.”
Jesus knew when He was going to die. He knew when His hour was up. He was going to be tortured and crucified. Jesus knew that Judas was going to betray Him. Jesus knew that He was the Son of God. He knew that God had given Him all the power. He had nothing to prove. So, what did He do? Jesus did exactly what He came to do. Jesus served.
