‘For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.’ Isaiah 9:6
Often we look at the word Father and we see through the filter of our own earthly fathers. Even though our fathers try their best, at times we fall short of what we desire. Being unsatisfied, becoming short-tempered, and not being present – whether physically or emotionally, make being the “perfect” dad impossible.
The good news is that Jesus is not like our earthly fathers. He was perfect and as our Everlasting Father, He is merciful, compassionate, caring, and He is always there.
