But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.
2 Peter 2:1
Many false teachers today have crept into the churches with their ideas of an easier Gospel message. A message, that while sounding good, leads to great error. Peter is addressing this and warning his readers to watch out for these false teachers and instead, cling to the Gospel message delivered by the apostles and from Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
