Salt and Light. Jesus looked at the people on the hillside, those broken, those unwanted, unloved, and he says to them that they are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. What could they offer to anyone? What can we offer? The answer is absolutely nothing. Outside of the pure mercy of God we are all underserving. However, Jesus says that we are holy and blameless. That we are new creations. That we are – Salt and Light. We are a beacon of mercy and love and hope for a dark world. We are distinctly visible and good.
