Loving God, Loving Others, Making Disciples

The Angels Proclamation

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” Luke 2:13-14

What are you celebrating this Christmas?

We celebrate things because much of life is mundane. We celebrate and recognize things that matter – marriage, people, events, achievements,

We celebrate with food, stories, pageantry, etc…, however, often the celebration overshadows what we are celebrating.

God shined a light, gave a voice, God provided the pageantry – all of what we celebrate as Christmas. Behold, a Savior is born.

It’s important to understand that the peace the angels proclaimed was not a proclamation of world peace or a declaration of the end of strife and war. It was not an announcement that we can now get along with our neighbors. It’s actually much bigger and much more important than any of that.

The peace on earth Jesus brings is the peace that we can have with God through Christ. This peace comes from faith in Jesus and the forgiveness that follows.
