After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’
You and I belong to a bigger family than we can fathom. This is the holy church, the body of Christ. This church is universal – all over the world with no shared language but the language of the gospel, no real shared socioeconomic status or race, but making much of Jesus Christ, preaching the Word of God, singing to God, breaking the bread of Communion, and enjoying the God of our salvation.
Today, we close our series on the Apostle’s Creed. We will look at the church, God’s mercy and grave through forgiveness and the life everlasting.
