“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. Matthew 6:24
In this passage from Matthew, Jesus is telling us that there are two main Gods in our lives – the real God and money. Jesus wants us to enjoy life but wants us to have more faith and wisdom rather than counting on money to be the answer.
God loves you, money doesn’t. God saves you – money doesn’t. In fact, there is a connection between our heart and our money. Do we trust in God’s wisdom? Do we place our faith in Him or do we trust in the almighty dollar?
It’s clear, when something impacts you spiritually, it affects how you handle everything materially. We need to follow Jesus’ words and, “… store up treasure in heaven.” When we give to God first, we reflect the nature of our relationship with Him.
