Steve and Sally DeVane first met Tolik and Alyona Deminko while visiting the Ukraine. Some months later, during the Deminko’s visit to the U. S., their family stayed with the DeVanes while raising support for their ministry and even spoke here at Three Point one Sunday morning.
Both Tolik and Alyona came to Christ while in college through an individual visiting their rooms and sharing the gospel with them. Their vocational goals at that time were secular in nature, studying subjects outside the religious realm. After graduation, they responded to God’s calling and joined Ukraine for Christ staff. Sometime later, Tolik moved to Lviv to serve on the local campus team and a year after that Alyona followed. While there, the couple’s relationship deepened and some months later were married.
In 2016 they were encouraged to become National Campus Leaders for Ukraine and to move to Kiev, the capitol. There they help their leaders, staff and volunteer to “reach every student with the Gospel, to build spiritual movements on every campus and to raise spiritual leaders for every nation”.
They now have a beautiful son, Roman.
