“God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him would not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
This is probably the most famous verse in the Bible. Maybe it’s because this verse gives us a summary of the perfect and greatest gift we as believers have received – the gift of Jesus.
God sent his only Son to suffer and die. Jesus did not die for a certain group of people, but for all people, for all of us sinners. In doing so, God showed us that we were important enough to him that he was willing to lose his son to save our lives.
I pray that we would meditate on this verse and realize that God loved and He gave. We believe and so we live.
