We, as a Nation, have often been complacent in our expression of thanks for the fact that so many have served to provide the protection and freedoms we enjoy as Americans.
With our freedom to worship God seemingly always under attack both from outside forces and those inside America, I believe we as churches should be the first to line up and say, “Thank You”!
Many men and women have served with the realization that there was a possibility they would be in a position to offer their very lives in exchange for these freedoms.
A scripture that is often used during occasions such as this of course, applies ultimately to Jesus, but also apply to those who have been willing to serve:
John 15:13 – Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
So, as we celebrate another Veterans Day, we remember and offer our thanks and appreciation for those that served and are serving!
