What’s something in your life you once resisted letting go of—but now you’re thankful it’s gone? In the moment, there may have been some pain and loss, but looking back, it was necessary to be pruned to make us stronger, better, and more Christ-like. Pruning may feel painful in the moment, but God uses it to grow fruit that lasts.
He lovingly prunes His people not to punish us, but to make us more fruitful.
He cuts out what competes with Christ. He prunes what no longer produces. He trims what once was fruitful to prepare us for what will bear even more fruit.
When you find yourself in a pruning season, remember the acronym HAT:
H – Humble yourself and submit to God
A – Abide in Jesus – the True Vine
T – Trust the hands of the Vine Dresser – God
Abiding in Christ helps us remain spiritually alive during challenging times.
