Loving God, Loving Others, Making Disciples

Being Content

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Our devotion this morning was on being content. Contentment doesn’t usually come from having more—it comes from noticing what’s already there.

We often rush past the quiet blessings of our ordinary lives: a safe place to sleep, our familiar routines, food on the table, a moment of peace. These things feel small because they are steady, ordinary – but they are God moments.

When we thank Him for what we often overlook, we shift from craving to contentment. We stop measuring life by what’s missing and start celebrating what’s present.

Contentment isn’t pretending life is perfect. It’s trusting that God is good – even in the ordinary. And when we learn to be grateful for today’s blessings, we discover that today is already filled with grace.
