“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another” Proverbs 27:17
We have spent the last few weeks talking about roots that grow deep. Being rooted in Jesus, God’s Word, and in prayer. This week, we’ll look at growing deeper in community.
God never designed us to grow alone. From the very beginning, Scripture shows us that transformation happens in community.
Iron doesn’t sharpen itself—and neither do we. Growth requires contact, friction, encouragement, and sometimes loving challenge.
Community is where faith becomes lived, not just believed. It’s where prayers are spoken out loud, burdens are shared, and joy is multiplied. When we walk together, we see blind spots we’d miss on our own and experience strength we didn’t know we had.
Isolation weakens us, but community strengthens us. Alone, we might get by, just hanging on—but together, we thrive. God uses people to shape people, and often the very growth we’re praying for comes through the relationships He’s already placed around us.
