Faith doesn’t require God to give me the outcome I want before I obey Him. In Daniel 3:17–18, we see that:
- Eventually, everybody hears the music.
- Faith knows that God is able.
- Faith trusts God even when He doesn’t do what we want.
- Sometimes God doesn’t keep us from the fire—He meets us in it.
- Your furnace can become somebody else’s testimony.
We need to be reminded that God is able. God is good. And even if He doesn’t do what I want, He is still worthy.
We also need to remember that Jesus did not remain distant from our suffering. He entered it. The God who was present with His people in Daniel’s furnace is ultimately revealed in Emmanuel—God with us.
