The Church’s one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord… It is no secret that I am a musician, though some may argue with me about that. My love of music began early and as a student of music, I continue to practice and learn new things. As a music teacher for over 30 years, I realized that songs are a powerful means…
This has been a wonderful – and exhausting week at Three Point. Our VBS was a great success. I would like to thank Renee and all of the volunteers that gave their time and energy to the kids all week. This Sunday you will get to see the kids in action as we experience first-hand what God is doing with our children.…
For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard. Acts 4:20 I love that verse above. Imagine being so passionate about what you’ve seen, so filled with the Spirit of God that no matter the pressure or condemnation, you just have to speak out about Jesus. I mean, Peter and John were basically saying to the religious court that,…
Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses. Proverbs 27:6 There are many times when I know something is wrong and yet I choose to avoid confrontation. Maybe it’s because I want everyone to like me, so instead of lovingly correcting someone, I just bury my head in the sand. I mean, who likes confrontation? However, I have…
But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today… Hebrews 3:13 I believe that the Body of Christ – the church, should be the most encouraging people anywhere. Scripture says this in Hebrews 3:13, to encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today. I’m where I am today because someone encouraged me to keep on going!…
And David was greatly distressed; for the people spoke of stoning him…but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. 1 Samuel 30:6 Have you ever been distressed? Overwhelmed? Overcome? I can imagine that some of you are going through a season of rough seas even now. In those times it is hard to focus on much of anything…
But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.” Acts 4:19-20 What’s one of the most profound things that someone has ever said to you? How did their words and their passion impact…
We’re still in the section of Romans where Paul is convicting three different groups of their sin and their need for God. This week we looked at the religious group. The group that goes to church and outwardly does all the “right things.” However, Paul gets on to this group – specifically the Jews when he says, you then who teach others,…
We are a culture of convenience, of personalization, of individualism. We try to order our lives to perfectly suit our every preference. Unfortunately, this even extends to our commitment to the local church. In looking deeper at the scripture in Hebrews 10:24-25, the passage does urge us not to skip church. Many pastors, including myself, have used this passage as an encouragement…
