Spiritual transformation is not sustained by moments—it is formed through rhythms. Most people want a deeper relationship with God, but they’re trying to build it on:
- Occasional church attendance
- Random prayer moments
- Spiritual spurts when life gets hard
And then they wonder,
“Why do I feel inconsistent?” “Why don’t I feel close to God?”
The truth is, you don’t build a strong life on occasional moments; you build it on consistent practices/rhythms. You don’t accidentally become healthy. You don’t accidentally become strong. And you don’t accidentally become spiritually mature. You become what your disciplines shape you to be.
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Acts 2:42
It is our devotion, not occasional effort, that produces Spiritual growth. That word “devoted” means Steady, Consistent, and Persistent, not Sporadic, Emotional, or Occasional. The early church didn’t grow because of a single powerful sermon or an emotional experience. They grew because they built a lifestyle around God
Some people are waiting for motivation, but growth is built on devotion. Ask yourself what you are actually devoted to, and what your daily habits reveal about your priorities.
