Loving God, Loving Others, Making Disciples

Seek First…

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33

Most of us don’t struggle with wanting God; we struggle with prioritizing God. We say: “God is important to me” or “Faith matters to me,” but our lives often tell a different story. What we say matters, but what we seek first reveals the truth. And Jesus addresses this directly in one powerful statement: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33)

Jesus is speaking into a world full of worry: “What will we eat? What will we wear? How will we survive?” And into that anxiety, Jesus gives a simple but life-changing command: Seek first the Kingdom of God.

Instead of letting worry lead us, Jesus calls us to put God first — trusting that when we pursue Him above everything else, He will faithfully provide what we need.
