Loving God, Loving Others, Making Disciples

The Quiet Saturday

Friday was loud. There were crowds shouting, soldiers hammering nails, people mocking, and the sky itself growing dark as Jesus hung on the cross.

Sunday will be loud too. Angels will speak. The stone will roll away. The tomb will be empty. Joy will explode into the world.

But today… is Saturday. Saturday is quiet.

The cross is behind them. The resurrection is not yet known. It is the space between grief and glory.

Many of us live in what I would call Saturday seasons. Some are waiting for healing. Some are waiting for direction. Some are waiting for a prayer to be answered. And in the waiting, God can feel silent. But the silence of Saturday is not the end of the story. It is the pause before resurrection and God is at work in the silence.
