The Weight of the Cross

“He was pierced for our rebellion, He was crushed for our sins… and the Lord has laid on Him the sins of us all.” Isaiah 53:5-6

The cross is the center of the Christian faith. It is where history changes. It is where sin is defeated. It is where grace is poured out. The cross was heavy, not just because it was made of wood, but because of what Jesus was carrying. The cross was heavy because it carried the burden of the world.

When Jesus walked toward Golgotha, He carried more than a beam on His shoulders. He carried the weight of humanity’s sin. He carried shame, sorrow, grief, and guilt. And understanding the weight of the cross changes everything about how we live.
