Loving God, Loving Others, Making Disciples

Teach Them To Obey

When Jesus gave the Great Commission, He didn’t just tell His followers to teach information—He told them to teach obedience. That’s a crucial difference.

In our culture, obedience can feel restrictive, even outdated. We celebrate independence, personal truth, and doing what feels right. But in the Kingdom of God, obedience is not about control—it’s about trust.

Jesus isn’t asking for blind compliance; He’s inviting us into a life shaped by His love and wisdom. Every command He gives flows from His heart for our good. Obedience is how we align our lives with that love.

Notice the order: we don’t obey to earn His presence—He promises, “I am with you always.” We obey because He is with us.
