Over the past several weeks we’ve been walking through the poetry of Song of Solomon. We’ve watched love pursued. We’ve seen the beauty of commitment. We’ve learned that love flourishes in God’s timing. Last week we discovered that every relationship experiences seasons, and God’s design is to weather those seasons together.
One thing that often goes unnoticed in Song of Solomon is that the couple is never completely alone. Throughout the book, another group appears repeatedly—the daughters of Jerusalem. They ask questions. They celebrate. They encourage. They witness. They provide perspective.
That reminds us of something we sometimes forget. That we are built for community and were never meant to be isolated. Our culture often says, mind your own business, but God says, bear one another’s burdens.
The strongest marriages and relationships are not simply built by two committed people. They are strengthened by a community of believers who encourage, pray, challenge, and support them.
I really believe that love grows best when we are in Godly relationships with people.
